Randy Edsall, has been hired to pull off a similar achievement in Maryland, he was a diligent work to build the Connecticut football program has become a winner.

Randy Edsall spent 12 years at Connecticut. Connecticut lost to Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl on Saturday night.

Randy Edsall, the 2010 Big East coach of the year, led the Huskies to eight or more wins in each of the last four seasons. Edsall did not accompany the team on its charter flight back to Connecticut, and players said he told them nothing of his coaching plans after the Fiesta Bowl loss to Oklahoma.

Maryland announced the hiring in a short news release Sunday night. The school will hold a news conference Monday afternoon to introduce Randy Edsall.

The Gators hired receivers coach Aubrey Hill and defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson. Florida also retained three current assistants Sunday. Muschamp kept running backs coach/recruiting coordinator Stan Drayton, linebackers coach/special teams coordinator D.J. Durkin and tight ends coach Brian White.
